Project Highlight

  • Inaugurated in 2013, CU CHAMPION (The Chinese University of Hong Kong Community Health And Multi-disciplinary Partnership Interprofessional Outreach Network) mobilizes student volunteers across disciplines to improve community health and well-being through service learning and inter-professional collaboration
  • Conducted elderly community outreach to increase awareness of chronic diseases and medication safety through public talks, simple health checks and one-to-one drug consultation
  • Associated with local community centers as a platform to provide interprofessional services learning experiences to CUHK students

Fostered connection between students and grassroots communities to enhance understanding of societal needs 

Community engagement

Engaged 415 participants in the 5 services and accumulated 24 service hours

Preventive healthcare outreach

Delivered 7 sessions of health talks by registered pharmacists and university professors related to chronic diseases and medication safety

Joint professional collaboration

Formed by university professors, registered pharmacists and students for a joint professional outreach team to visit 4 elderly and community centers
